A MAN accused of 50 sex offences, including 11 counts of rape, has appeared in court.

Raymond Nunn, aged 54, of Captain Fold Road, Little Hulton, was accused of the offences -- against children of different ages over a number of years -- at Salford Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

His wife Jean, also aged 54, appeared alongside him accused of four charges under the Children and Young Persons Act.

Bespectacled Raymond Nunn, dressed in dark trousers and an open-necked light shirt, sat on a bench at the front of court number two during the proceedings.

His wife, dressed in dark trousers and top and wearing glasses, sat alongside him.

District judge John Feinstein remanded the couple on bail until August 4 when they will appear at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, for a preliminary hearing.

The pair left court hand in hand by a side exit. Jean Nunn covered her head with a coat hood, and greying, short-haired Raymond Nunn shielded his face from photographers with documents.
