THE Engineering Employers' Federation, the manufacturers' organisation in the North-west, today welcomed the efficiency measures contained in the Chancellor's spending review.
John Malam, the federation's North-west chief executive, said: "These are tough measures but they must be delivered if they are to prevent the tax rises that manufacturers are desperate to avoid. We are particularly pleased to see continued support for enterprise in the regions and the Manufacturing Advisory Service.
