AS a World War Two veteran now in my 80s I thought that I had seen everything in this life -- but now a developer is seeking permission to remove a war memorial to the two World Wars' heroes who gave all to keep our country free.
The place the memorial is sited was the best that the town could give for their effort to keep us free.
I was one of the very young men who was proud of our country and at 18 years went to the colours 1940-47. In the process, I received wounds in a tank battle on the road to Eindhoven, Holland. I still have problems both physically and mentally, doing my duty all those years ago. I must do my duty now against this person and the people who grant planning permission hoping my comrades from the two wars can rest in peace.
