THE quality of careers education at the Bolton School Girls' Division has been recognised with a prestigious award.
Over the past 18 months, the Girls' Division Careers Department has been working towards the Careers Education Quality Award.
Vilma O'Shea, careers education consultant for Connexions Bolton, acted as a mentor, and Alan Hallmark, an independent consultant, visited the school to hear the views of staff and students.
In his report, he wrote: "Careers education at Bolton School Girls' Division has been developed to the extent that it has become an excellent resource to the whole school. Not only does it provide the expected support for individual pupils, but it appears to enable teachers across the whole school to enrich the provision they offer."
