A COUNTRY show with a difference is being staged this weekend at Astley and Tyldesley Miners Welfare Club, Gin Pit Village, Tyldesley.
Dogs and ferrets will compete for prizes at the Astley and Tyldesley Running Dog Club event on Saturday and Sunday which features lurcher and whippet racing and family fun attractions.
Entries have come from the North-west, North-east and the Midlands and the event serves as a qualifier for the Chatsworth Champion of Champions and The Countryman's Weekly Champion of Champions (terriers and lurchers) at the Midland Game Fair.
Judging begins at noon with lurcher racing before the show and whippet racing on Sunday.
Other attractions include children's rides and a bouncy castle plus an archery display.
