BOLTON schools are being urged to ditch their political apathy and take part in some mock elections.
The Hansard Society's Citizenship Programme has worked in conjunction with the DfES and the Electoral Commission to provide schools with everything they need to run a Local, European or London Y Vote Mock Election in the lead up to the real thing on June 10.
Y Vote aims to actively engage students with the political, social and moral issues of the world around them in a fun and interesting way, whilst supporting National Curriculum requirements for Citizenship Education.
All the information and resources schools require are provided free of charge at www.mockelections.co.uk.
