CONSTRUCTION manager Colin Hounslea has been named one of the North of England's best site managers.
Mr Hounslea, aged 45, of Bradshaw, Bolton, who works for housing provider Lovell, has won a Pride in the Job Quality award by the NHBC (National House-Building Council).
The award recognises his management of Lovell's site at The Crescent, Salford, where the company is building a five-storey development of 31 apartments on the site of the former TGWU building.
He said: "I'm very pleased about the award, but it's also a tribute to the whole team working at The Crescent."
He has 30 years of construction industry experience, having started his career as a joiner before moving into site management. He has worked with Lovell, which has its North-west regional office in Altrincham, for nearly four years.
Mr Hounslea will now go forward to compete in the next round of the Pride in the Job competition for a Top 100 Seal of Excellence Award and then a regional award. The UK's three winners will be announced in January, 2005.
