YOUNG rugby league players showed off their skills when several local primary schools entered the annual seven-a-side tag rugby festival at the weekend.
The event was held at Victory Park and was organised by Chorley Panthers in association with the Asda in the Community project.
Mandy Ibbison of the Panthers said: "The bad weather held off to produce a fabulous afternoon of entertainment with some pupils showing excellent skills which hopefully they will continue to develop and who knows maybe there were some stars of the future playing!"
Chorley Panthers are on the look out for youngsters wishing to play rugby league and attend training sessions taken by qualified coaches.
The club currently has 13 teams training for various age groups ranging from under sevens to under 15s.
There is also a girls' squad for Under 12s, 13s and 14s and an open age team.
All teams are affiliated to the British Amateur Rugby League Association (BARLA), the North West Counties Rugby League and the North Lancashire Rugby League Association.
The club is based at the Chisnall playing fields, Coppull.
