A PROMISING student at a Bolton school missed out after earning a place in the finals of a national engineering competition for girls.
Amy Turner, aged 16, of Turton High School, stayed in London with other contestants in the competition.
Amy designed, built and tested a wind turbine in the Green Design Challenge and reached the finals of the competition at Imperial College, London.
A team from Scotland won a week-long trip to the Artic Circle or the Czech Republic to research climate change.
