PLANS for a new multi-million pound high-tech Bolton office development, which will create over 100 jobs, have been unveiled by developers.
The Hurstwood Group, based in Rossendale and Preston, is seeking planning permission to build a complex of three two and three-storey offices at the Navigation Business Park at Waters Meeting Road.
The new offices are the second phase of work at Navigation Park. Each building will feature between 10,000 and 15,000 square feet of office space, and offices will be available from 2,500 square feet upwards.
A £5 million initial development is already under way, which will house the Children and Family Services division of Social Services and a hi-tech business incubation centre for the Bolton Business Ventures.
In total the two schemes will bring up to 350 jobs and approximately 70,000 sq ft of new buildings to the business park.
Jonathan Conway, head of property at Hurstwood, said there is a huge demand for high specification, flexible office space, particularly in Bolton.
He said: "Our property team has already received a number of enquires from businesses from Bolton and outside the area looking to relocate.
"When full, the offices will bring over 100 jobs to the area. Navigation Park is in a wonderful location for businesses. It is less than a mile from Bolton town centre, close to the Valley Centretainment Complex - which includes a cinema, leisure centre and restaurants - and just four miles from the M61."
Designs for the complex have been drawn up by Manchester-based architects Downs & Variava. The whole project is scheduled for completion by 2007.
The site has an open remit for employment uses - mainly office space, but also light industry and warehouse and distribution facilities. The site, off Blackburn Road, was formerly an old bleachworks and railway sidings.
