SIX pupils from Westhoughton High School have been given Princess Diana Awards for their fund-raising efforts.
Pupils who have taken part in projects run by the school have raised more than £500 for children's charities in Uganda and £350 for an orphanage in Belarus. The school also set up a youth action branch of Amnesty International.
The pupils - Natalie Carey, aged 14; Francesca Russell, aged 15; Holly Ogden, aged 16; David Chorlton, aged 16; Kay Yee Ho, aged 14; Kelly Ashton, aged 14 - all received a medal and certificate from the Princess Diana Foundation to mark the achievement.
