DAVE Spikey gave pupils a helping hand to toast their year of sporting success.
The comedian joined youngsters at St George's Primary School, The Hoskers, Westhoughton, to celebrate a season which has seen them win a clutch of trophies and awards.
The boys' under-11s seven-a-side football team were undefeated champions of the Bolton League Division C, scoring 38 goals and conceding just eight.
The school's sports programmes had helped more than 50 children from Years Three to Six represent teams during the year in girls' football, netball, cricket, athletics and swimming.
The girls' football team won a sportsmanship award at a local schools' tournament, and the school's swimming team reached the final of the Bolton Schools Gala.
