RESIDENTS in Tyldesley, Mosley Common and Astley can put forward their views on plans for an "employment park" on farm land between Chaddock Lane and Garrett Lane this week.
The public inquiry to consider Peel Developments' appeal against Wigan Council's refusal of planning permission will start at 10am tomorrow in the Council Chamber at Leigh Town Hall.
While the inquiry by a planning inspector is likely to last about a week, people wanting to give evidence are asked to attend the opening session and register with the inspector.
Tyldesley residents Geoff Molyneaux and Councillor Brian Wilson are urging as many people as possible to go along and tell the inspector what they think about the proposals.
In a statement, they said: "We have been very impressed by the strength of the arguments put forward by objectors as well as the number of objections.
"The inquiry presents an opportunity for everyone to protest against this needless attack on this important open land which is very much valued by our communities."
