PLEASE do not lose sight of the bigger picture regarding the proposed development at Dunscar.
The proposed War Memorial move is an important issue, but its sole purpose is to unnecessarily enlarge the junction of Blackburn Road and Darwen Road so that the developer can replace a gap in the hedge on Blackburn Road with yet another road junction, allowing access to the development.
Both of these alterations will cause increased journey times for all residents of Egerton, Bromley Cross and Dunscar.
I live overlooking the land also and, like my, neighbours have never seen any of the problems Mr Fitton refers to. There may have been isolated incidents that he has had to deal with, but don't we all? They are no reason to destroy a conservation area with flats and houses, and destroy significant wildlife habitat in our neighbourhood, purely for the financial gain of a few people.
