THE lady members of Bolton Flat Green Bowling Club have managed a full house in the national competitions, with players going to the National Championship at Leamington next month in all of the disciplines.
Janet Cropper and Evelyn Franklin will compete in the two-wood singles, Eleanor Benvie is in the four-wood singles, and Viv Tomlinson and Pat Barker in the pairs event.
Viv Tomlinson, Eleanor Benvie and Pat Barker compete in the tripes and Joyce Bristow, Edna Counsell, Janet Cropper and Evelyn Franklin are in the fours.
The achievement is particularly remarkable since the Bolton club is still without a home and have had to play all their qualifying games at other flat green bowling clubs throughout Lancashire.
The club's new bowling green in Leverhulme Park is four months behind schedule and will not be ready until early in August.
