SAM Allardyce has laughed off Wolves' claims that he is unsettling their Wantaway striker Henri Camara.

"It makes me smile to hear that Dave Jones has had a pop at me," the Reebok boss said, reacting to the Molineux manager's suggestion that Wanderers had been deliberately mischievous with the timing of their bids.

Wanderers made an initial offer of £2.5m, which was increased to £2.7m this week - each one arriving just before important meetings with the Senegal international.

"If he wants to say something, he should say it to me and not to the media. The fact is that I can't control what their player does or does not do.

"It's got nothing to do with me, but I certainly don't recommend that he does the sort of thing he has been doing."

Camara has ignored orders to report for pre-season training in protest at the rejection of his transfer request following Wolves' relegation from the Premiership last season.

The player and his representative are due to meet club officials tomorrow to try to resolve the dispute, but Allardyce insists Wanderers have followed the proper procedure.

"I rang Dave Jones in May and told him we were going to bid for his player," he said. "We have since made a bid through the club, which they did not accept. We made a slightly improved offer and it looks like they haven't accepted that either."

Allardyce has confirmed making an enquiry about Blackburn Rovers' unsettled striker Dwight Yorke, but says reports that he is ready to offer the player a chance to get his Premiership career back on track are premature.

"Dwight Yorke has had a fall out with Blackburn and we got a few calls from agents," he said.

"We said there may be an interest... that's all. He's one on our list and we'll take it from there, but I'm not looking to sign another striker at the moment."
