THE former Chairman of Centrica was guest of honour at Bolton School's annual prize giving night.
Sir Michael Perry visited the school on Chorley New Road to hand out prizes. Sir Michael has links with the school through his role as trustee of the Leverhulme Trust.
The school also said goodbye to members of staff who are taking retirement. Head of maths Terry Cairns is retiring after 26 years, Dr. Ralph Britton retires after 29 years, six of them as head of English and Ann Nightingale is retiring after 28 years as assistant librarian.
