THE death of a 22-year-old man whose body was found lying beside a burned-out car in Whitefield is not being treated as suspicious.
The man, believed to be from the Cheetham area of Manchester, had suffered severe burns. He was discovered beside a Vauxhall Vectra left in a car park at Springwater Park at 8am yesterday by a passer-by.
The man has not yet been formally identified and a pathologist will conduct a post-mortem examination this afternoon.
A police spokesman said: "We are keeping an open mind on the events leading to the death, but at this stage it is not believed to be suspicious.
"We are anxious to speak to anyone who has any information regarding the incident.
