CLOSE your eyes, listen to the voice and it could just be Phil Collins.

For Phil Collins and Genesis tribute band Face Value play the Breightmet Labour Club on Friday.

Face Value frontman John Wilkinson recently met Phil and even handed his hero a CD of the band's versions of his hero's songs.

He met Collins at his recent Manchester Evening News Arena performance, and said: "We had a 45-minute chat. He was a lovely bloke and I gave him a CD and he promised me some feed-back. He hadn't heard our music, but he had heard of us.

"He is one of my heroes. I've been a fan for 27 years and it was the biggest thrill of my life to meet him.

"I don't look anything like him as I'm tall and have got hair, but I do sound like him.

"I'm from Widnes, but we do play in Bolton a lot. We really like the place and it is our fan base."

Entry to the Breightmet Labour Club show is £5.
