SCHOOLS in Bolton can receive free maps for 11-year-old pupils under an Ordnance Survey scheme.
From October, the national mapping agency is giving away more than 750,000 Explorer maps to 11-year-olds. Although distributed by schools, the maps will be owned by the children.
Schools are also being offered the chance of winning a visit from Andrew Cooney, the youngest person to walk to the South Pole, if they register for the scheme at www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/freemaps.
