THERE appears to be a major concern with reference to reducing the amount of traffic on our roads, the latest crazy idea is to charge drivers per mile!
Why don't we pick on the guilty for a change?
Any person driving illegally, that is without an up-to-date full driving licence, MOT, road tax, insurance, etc., should have their car impounded and disposed of. Also a large fine should be imposed, and a further 12-month ban with a threat of imprisonment if they are caught breaking these laws again.
This would automatically remove many vehicles from our roads, and these would not just be any cars, but ones that are a hazard to other law abiding road users.
Why do we always look for a complicated solution to a problem?
