A HOAX bomb which was planted in Higher Broughton, Salford, in a suspected attempt to scare a Jewish community has been blown up by Army experts, police said today.
Bomb disposal specialists carried out a controlled explosion on the package after it was found at 11.30pm on Thursday in Higher Broughton, Salford.
Police said the device had been placed there to look like a genuine explosive device, to "cause alarm to the local Jewish community in Higher Broughton".
Police are questioning a man they arrested in connection with the hoax.
