A GROUP of 30 school-leavers are being taken on an action-packed trip to the Lake District to be taught life skills.
The group of 16-year-olds, from ethnic minority communities in Crompton, Halliwell, Deane and The Haulgh, are going on a five-day trip to the Water Park at the end of August.
The trip aims to boost the youngsters' self esteem and confidence.
Inayat Omarji, of the Sport, Health and Inclusion Unit, said: "It's about team building. The young people are all coming from different parts of the community and they will work in different groups so they can get to know one another."
The young people will also be taking part in workshops designed to help them make their own CVs and fill out job applications forms.
