YOUNG entrepreneurs from Westhoughton High School have scooped two prestigious awards for their ingenuity - and got to meet England Rugby Union hero Martin Johnson.
Five pupils who formed a Young Enterprise Company called Pathways have created an ingenious non-breakable lamp which gives off a three-dimensional effect.
Now they have won two awards at the HSBC Young Enterprise National Finals at the Savoy Hotel in London.
Their company won £500 and the GKN Plc "Young Enterprise Production Award" for its development of the lamp, and went on to secure third place in the competition, winning a trophy and another £500.
The pupils also got to meet England's World Cup winning captain Martin Johnson, who was guest speaker at the awards dinner.
Pathways was also the best Young Enterprise company in England, as the winning company and the runner-up came from Wales and Scotland.
