BOLTON Museum has opened a mini-monster display after restoration work was completed on a set of dinosaur models.
Around 17 scale models of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures are being exhibited.
The models were created by Vernon Edwards between 1927 and 1948 and were used in photographs in the first public science book dedicated to dinosaurs -- W.E. Swinton's "The Dinosaurs: A Short History of a Great Group of Extinct Reptiles" in 1934.
To shed light on changing science views and the lives of these extinct reptiles, resident dinosaur expert, David Craven, will be giving a talk on Friday. The event, at 1.30pm.
is free and will give visitors the chance to ask any questions they may have about dinosaurs
, measuring from 15cm to over half a metre in length,.
The display will provide a insight into how science has changed the way the world sees dinosaurs. As science has developed, it has been able to uncover more about dinosaurs, how they looked and the way they behaved.
The models in the museum will be presented with a 1934 interpretation and a 2004 interpretation to show how science has changed.
