FUNDRAISING for an annual day out for disabled children is under way - with a celebrity trolley dash around a Bolton store.

Tower FM presenters Paul Fairclough and Vicki Robinson will take part in the high-speed shopping event at the Big W store on Manchester Road next month.

People can sponsor the pair, who will have to rush around the store cramming as much as possible into trolleys to raise money for the annual Bolton taxi drivers' day out for children with disabilities.

Around 50 taxi drivers are expected to give up a day to take more than 200 children to Southport for a fun day out.

They will also be joined by fire service mascot Welephant and several firefighters, as well as the Tower FM presenters.

Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce is also expected to help launch the event, which leaves from Big W's car park, with help from some of the Wanderers squad.

The trolley dash will be held on August 2 in advance of the day out at Southport Pleasureland on August 10.

Those pledging sponsorship to the radio pair stand to win a DVD player if they can guess the value of their trolley dash haul.

The Bolton and District Taxi and Private Hire Drivers children's outing has been running for more than 30 years. As many as 50 drivers donate a day of their time to ferry children to the seaside.
