SCHOOLBOY Jamie Clayton is the first Bolton youngster in five years to receive the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Gold Award for wheelchair proficiency.
And, as a fitting reward, the ten-year-old was presented with the certificate by his heroes from Bolton Wanderers.
Season ticket holder Jamie, who attends the Oaks School, Sharples, met Kevin Davies, Nicky Hunt and Michael Bridges after a training session at the Reebok Stadium.
Wanderers superfan Jamie attends every home game at the Reebok and also travels to most away games with his dad.
The treat was organised by head teacher at The Oaks, Sue Warren.
Jamie practised a range of skills, including using pelican crossings and pavements, road sense and safety and the Green Cross Code to complete the award, run by Bolton Council's Road Safety Unit
Jamie's dad Mark, of Langham Close, Sharples, said: "Jamie was so excited about meeting the players.
"He was asked who he would like to see, and he chose his favourite players. He was really pleased and it's great that he knows how proud of him we all are.
"He was especially excited to meet Michael Bridges as he means a lot to Jamie as a new player."
