THE ROYAL Lancashire show started on Tuesday with as many as 60,000 visitors expected for the three day event.
The county's showpiece agricultural event, being held at Salesbury Hall Farm in Ribchester, near Blackburn, is one of the region's most popular occasions.
Attractions include country crafts, equestrian and horticultural exhibitions, as well as sheep dog trials, show jumping, and more than 200 trade stands.
The organisers are hoping for better weather conditions than last year when the the last day of the show had to be cancelled when the showground became a sea of mud after torrential rain.
Daily prices are £12 for adults, £7 for senior citizens and £6 for children aged 5 and over. Family tickets for 2 adults and up to 3 children can be purchased for £30.
