A LOCAL group is holding a charity night to help boost much-needed funds.
The event is being organised by SOBS -- an organisation dedicated to helping families bereaved by suicide.
The Bolton branch of the self-help group was set up by Janet and Noel Taylor after they lost their son Malcolm, aged 23.
Our Lady of Lourdes Social Club, Plodder Lane, Farnworth, is the venue for the charity night, on Saturday, August 14, from 7.30pm to midnight. Tickets are £3, which includes a buffet. There is a disco and karaoke and raffle. All money raised will help to provide stationery, pay for photocopying and specialised books for a library and continuing support for everyone who uses the service.
The group helps families deal with their grief and meets on the third Thursday of every month at The Royal Bolton Hospital.
Tickets are available from the club or by telephone on 01942 516116.
Anyone who wants more information about the Bolton group should ring 01942 201744 and the National Helpline is on 0870 241 3337.
