SO soccer's leading finance experts say that the European Commission's outlawing of Sky TV's exclusive deal with the Premier League for live football matches is a recipe for disaster (Bolton Evening News, August 5).
Sky are using their exclusive position to hike-up subscription rates again (second time this year). Also the pubs and clubs complained that they have had a massive increase for showing live football.
Sky said that there is a 30 per cent increase in live matches being shown. This is a hollow excuse as Sky paid no extra for these extra matches.
As soon as Sky's exclusivity ends the better.
