Westhoughton reached the final of the Thwaites Knockout when they overhauled a 238-run target to beat Ribblesdale League side Settle.
They will now face Bootle, from the Liverpool Competition, at Old Trafford on September 12 - a repeat of the 1999 final, in which the Bolton League side came out on top.
That, however, was far from the mind at the halfway point of Sunday's game, when Settle finished with a handsome total of 255-7 off their 45 overs.
Rain was always a threat, and after showers had twice driven the players off the field, Westhoughton were set a revised target of 238 from 42 overs.
The Bolton League side quickly attacked that, with Ian Pilkington and pro Antonio Mayers putting on a partnership of 90. Mayers went for 34, but Pilkington continued his recent good form to go on and score 77.
Poor light hardly helped Westhoughton's cause, but again they found a winning partnership.
This time, Rick Parker and Mark Atherton came together, and they steered Westhoughton to 238-5 with an over and four balls to spare. Parker finished on 39 not out, with Atherton contributing an unbeaten 27.
Earlier, there had been a Bolton influence in Settle's big total.
Former Greenmount pro Robin Morris hit 71, and Stuart Hornby, formerly of Egerton, added 38.
Mayers was Westhoughton's best bowler with impressive figures of 4-24 off nine overs.
