DESPITE extremely hot conditions Chorley Harriers Dave Wall had a tremendous run in the Chernobyl 10k road-race held in Preston.

Wall, who is only recently back from honeymoon, came home in 38 mins 15 taking seventh place overall.

Chorley Harriers' junior squad dominated the two-mile fun-run with first place going to John Horrocks in 11 minutes 43.

Gary Platt continues to enjoy his first season of road-races and finished 38th in a peronal best time of 42 minutes 44.

Eddie Pugh took the first veteran 60 prize with a time of 44 mins 37.

Claire Goulden finished in 45 mins 27 with Michael Murray a few places further back. Diane Wall came home in 49mins 13.

Linzi Brussells and Jeanette Murray brought the team home in 53 mins.

Adam Goulden and Mark Yates were third and fourth respectively.

The first girl home was Catherine Goulden in eighth place overall with a time of 14 mins 20 but was chased all the way by Lucy Fisher.

Michael Murray was 14th with Alannah Ellithorn, Charlotte Murray and Katie Fisher completing the team.

Completing the third Sale Sizzler series, Paul Swindells gained a personal best by finishing in 18 mins 46 ahead of Sarah Scarrott 19 mins 38 with fellow club mate Colin Hearthington home in 20min 57.
