A GROUP of young girls, seemingly on a wagon of some sort, but what was the occasion? That was the question sent to reader Mrs M. Yates by a Mrs B. Bryan, who now lives in Tasmania but who used to live in Ringley, and whose maiden name was Wilson.
Mrs Yates, it seems, got together with a few friends, and came up, hopefully, with the answer. On the picture was Mrs Bryan's mother Annie Wilson (nee Tomlinson), born in 1908, and Annie's sister Ruth Borsay (nee Tomlinson). The occasion, decided Mrs Yates and her friends, was the Maypole celebration at Ringley in May, 1931.
If anyone has any more information about the photograph, you can contact Mrs Yates at 19, Market Street, Stoneclough, Radcliffe, M26 1EJ
