VICAR'S daughters Carolyn Brew and Alison Honour are getting ready for the run of their lives.

Carolyn and Alison, who are the daughters of Lostock vicar Phil Brew are aiming to raise cash for the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young by completing the 13.1 mile Great North Run in September.

Carolyn, a 31-year-old teacher who now lives in Whitefield, and 36-year-old Alison, who works as an child occupational therapist in Huddersfield, want to raise cash for the charity in memory of the son of a work colleague of Alison.

James Lodge died suddenly in May, aged just four, after being apparently healthy. A post mortem examination revealed that he had tiny tumours affecting the electrical impulses of the heart which had caused it to stop beating.

Alison and Carolyn, both former Turton High School pupils, say they hope to complete their sponsored half marathon at a run rather than a walk.
