FIRE EATING and falconry are just two of the attractions helping turn the clock back at Hall'ith'Wood Museum.

Organisers of a free fun day at the hall on August 27 want to recreate the 16th century with the help of a few historic activities.

A stilt walking jester and a wandering minstrel will mingle with visitors and there will be Tudor dancing, archery demonstrations and shire horses.

There will also be historical games, music, dance and quizzes as the museum joins in the celebrations for the Bolton Festival.

The event will run from 12pm to 5pm, with free car parking and refreshments available.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The museum is enjoying record-breaking visitor figures this year -- up by 40 per cent.

And it has also received a top award after being accredited by VisitBritain's Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Service.
