THRILL seekers will soon have the chance to journey on a real African safari when Blackpool Pleasure Beach unveils its latest whiteknuckle attraction.
Daredevils are ready to spot leopards, cheetahs, crocodiles and lions when they jump aboard Wild Earth which opens on Monday.
The new attraction sees riders sitting in a jeep that heaves, pitches and rolls precariously across the plains of the Serengeti.
The African landscape has been impressively recreated as riders navigate their vehicle through a panaromic backdrop.
Launching Europe's first Wild Earth ride are animals from Blackpool Zoo who are set to visit for the day.
A Madagascan giant hissing cockroach and a giant African land snail are the highlights among the weird of wonderful creatures who will unleash Wild Earth in all its glory.
Officials from HM Customs are completing this wildlife experience by bringing along seized items like elephants tusks, huge teeth and even a baboon's head.
Amanda Thompson, managing director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, said: "The Wild Earth ride is the first of its kind in Europe and we are delighted to be able to bring the thrill, excitement and highly educational value of this virtual reality experience to our visitors.
"The Pleasure Beach is renowned for its exhilarating and innovative rides and this is yet another to add to our repertoire."
The Wild Earth ride is manufactured by American company EnTCo who design, develop and install public entertainment systems, aircrew training systems and simulation systems.
Dr Roger Macklin, Director of European Sales, said: "We are very excited to be providing the Pleasure Beach with the Wild Earth ride. We believe it will add another dramatic dimension of interaction for the visitors to Blackpool Pleasure Beach."
Wild Earth comes just three months after the launch of Bling, the Pleasure Beach's last big attraction, which was opened by stage star Jonathan Wilkes in May.
