LANCASHIRE'S first year-round, all-weather horse-riding trail has opened outside Wigan.
Farming brothers Brian and Alan Bromley opened the "gallop" earlier this month.
The all-weather circuit skirts the edge of the Bromleys' property at Hesketh House Farm in Wrightington. Riders pay £7 per day to use the route, which boasts stunning views of Winter Hill and the West Pennine Moors.
Changing rooms, showers and a horse-wash facility are also planned.
The brothers received almost £30,000 towards the creation of the course from the Department of the Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs' Rural Enterprise Scheme.
Alan Bromley said: "We decided on this because there was nothing like it nearer than Cheshire."
