THE new football season is starting shortly and I promised myself I would write to the Bolton Evening News.
Now that most people have got over the ticket problem which occurred last season, regarding Cardiff, I would like to let your readers know what happened to us on that day.
I, and a friend, queued for seven hours to get our tickets. Immediately in front of us (time 6.40am) was a group of young people, six or seven of them in total, and it was their behaviour, wit and friendliness that helped the hours pass quicker.
Football was the main topic, but we talked about many interesting things (even the young lady played football).
We think they deserve a great deal of credit, they are all members of the Youthopia Club which is run on the Johnson Fold Estate.
The project manager Marion Jackson and her volunteers should be commended for their work with the children, but it's the children that are so keen about their club and Bolton Wanderers that struck us.
I just wanted your readers to know what good work and great children are around Bolton. Bolton Wanderers should invite them up to meet Sam and their heroes.
