FORMER full back John Ritson ruled the roost at Bolton Wanderers' Former Player Association Golf Day at Dunscar.
Ritson, the 1070s full back was the overall winner of the star-studded competition, which included former players John McGinlay, Wyn Davies, first team coach Phil Brown, Peter Nicholson and Ian Seddon.
Teamed with Dem Platt, he scored 49 points in the Stableford competition, beating Dave Shepherd and Adam Whalley by one point.
But it was Phillips who staggered the field by winning the longest drive award, with a magnificent tee shot of 250 yards, to beat off the challenge of a field of 60 competitors.
