ALAN Curbishley will have no hesitation in throwing Charlton's two latest recruits, Danny Murphy and Francis Jeffers, straight in against Wanderers tomorrow.

The Addicks took their summer spending to almost £9million this week when he signed midfielder Murphy from Liverpool for £2.5m and Jeffers from Arsenal for £2.6m.

Curbishley accepts it will take time for them to settle in, but knows that fitness will not be an issue, since both players have come through full pre-season programmes with their former clubs.

Murphy, who signed a four-year contract with the Londoners, said: "When you bring in new players, it can sometimes take time for them to gel with the current squad, so we'll have to wait and see on that one.

"I've had a good pre-season, I haven't missed any training apart from two days because of what was going on with my transfer to Charlton.

"Physically I'm fine, mentally I've had a tough couple of days, but I'm capable of putting that to the back of my mind and getting on with things. It's best to go and play rather than sit and dwell - I'm ready to do that."

Curbishley, who has also added Stephan Andersen, Bryan Hughes, Dennis Rommedahl and Talal El Karkouri to his squad this summer and has lodged a £6m bid for Southampton striker James Beattie, has a number of issues to consider before naming his starting line-up.
