A PENSIONER had a lucky escape after a stolen vehicle ploughed into the living room of her Hindley home early Saturday.

The 79-year-old was asleep in the back bedroom of her Broadway home when the accident happened at 4.30am.

A blue Ford Focus stolen from the Hindley area was followed before officers lost it and stopped the pursuit. It was found shortly afterwards.

The woman was treated for shock but refused hospital treatment.

Building inspectors were called to the house and declared the property unsafe.

The driver and a passenger fled from the scene before firefighters and police arrived.
