FLYTIPPING on the side streets of Little Lever is being targeted by Bolton Council bosses.
A clean-up operation has been carried out to clear mounting rubbish in Back Hill Top, Back Lever Street and Hamilton Court.
The work is being welcomed by the Little Lever West Resident's Association, who are campaigning to tidy up the village.
A crackdown on dog fouling on the Victory Road playing fields is next on the agenda after complaints from people using the playing fields. Grass has been cut and trees have already been pruned.
Edward Steele-Wilson, chairman of the resident's association, wants better facilities for children at the playing fields. "There's no goalposts, no swings or roundabouts," he said. "It's no wonder teenagers hang around on street corners because they have nothing to do."
On Wednesday, residents held a meeting with police representatives to discuss how to tackle anti-social behaviour.
