A POLICE search has been taking place after a 14-year-old boy was swept away in a river at Dunham Massey, near Altrincham.
Greater Manchester Police mobilised the force helicopter and plane, along with riverboat patrols on the River Bollin, where the Adam Charlotte fell in.
"He had been with three friends when he got into difficulty at about 1600 BST on Thursday and was swept away from them," said a force spokesman. "The three friends are being treated for shock."
It is not yet clear how he got into difficulties.
