A YOUNG man was taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke after the bedroom of a house in Feedfield Road, Bury, caught fire.
The man, in his early 20s, fell asleep downstairs and was woken by a smoke detector to find the bedroom on fire.

It is believed a discarded cigarette may have started the fire, which destroyed the bedroom.
