A TEENAGER is still fighting for her life in hospital a week after a road accident in which her best friend died.
Leanne Keegan, aged 13, of Aster Avenue, Farnworth, remains in the intensive care unit at the Royal Manchester's Children's Hospital, Pendlebury, with her parents keeping a vigil at her bedside.
She suffered serious injuries in the accident last Sunday night.
Her friend Carla Bate, also aged 13, of Primrose Avenue, Farnworth, was killed.
A Toyota MR2 being driven along Albert Road, Farnworth, was involved in an accident with the girls as they were standing at traffic lights at the junction with Longcauseway,.
Steven Lewis, aged 35, of Westland Avenue, Farnworth, appeared in court last week charged with causing death by dangerous driving. He was remanded in custody for seven days.
