A PREMIERSHIP football manager is to compere a charity evening at the Reebok Stadium.

Iain Dowie, manager of Crystal Palace, will take the lead at the Myasthenia Gravis (MG) Association's grand ball.

Celebrity guests, entertainment, an auction and a four-course meal promise to make for a memorable evening on Saturday, November 20.

All the proceeds from the evening will go towards the Bolton branch of the charity and its research fund. MG is a muscle weakness disease that affect the receptors between the nerve endings and the muscle. Sufferers may be fine in the morning but by the afternoon could have drooping eyelids, double vision and slurred speech.

Branch secretary Tony Davies, of Ladybridge, said: "Sufferers of this terrible disease are sometimes unable to carry out activities that are taken for granted, such as eating, talking and laughing."

The charity is looking for donations and prizes that can be used in the raffle or auction. Advertising space is available in the brochure for the evening priced at £100 for a full page.

Tickets are priced at £30 and further information is available from Mr Davies on 01204 63849.
