VISITORS came face to beak with magnificent birds of prey during an open day at one of Bolton's most historic buildings.
Staff from animal society Corio Raptor Care took a selection of birds to Turton Tower in Edgworth over the weekend.
Crowds flocked around the animals, particularly George the vulture and Boo the European Eagle Owl, the largest species of owl in the world.
They were joined by a sparrowhawk, a barn owl and a tawny owl, and bird expert Nick Henderson was on hand to answer questions about the different species.
People were able to get up close to the birds and stroke them as they live in captivity and are used to the presence of humans.
The exhibition was part of a free open day held at the Tower's gardens on Sunday.
