ELVIS Presley mania came to Bolton when his cousin appeared in the town to commemorate the 27th anniversary of his death.

Karen Sue Presley was at The Bar in Nelson Square to pay her own tribute to The King.

The 53-year-old spoke fondly of her memories of her famous relative - and said Elvis would have been touched by his Bolton fans dancing and singing to his hits.

Karen Sue, who spent much of her childhood with Elvis and his family at his home in Graceland, Tennessee, said: "I have lots of happy memories of Elvis. I used to live at the back of Graceland, right near to his home. He had a great life and was a great person.

"His appeal is universal. It's amazed me to see how many young people like Elvis. I think parents have passed on their love of Elvis from generation to generation.

"Elvis would have been proud to see so many people here in Bolton, remembering him for the right things - his music."

Karen Sue, who has been in Blackpool for The Elvis Experience Show, will continue her UK tour when she visits Wales later this week.
