SOME people are just fanatical about sport and the Turrell family is no different.
Its passion is bowls, with Dad Ian and sons Nicholas and James playing together for Thermite in the Radcliffe Workshop League.
Nothing strange in that, except Nicholas is 11 and James just eight!
Nicholas, who starts at St Gabriels HS next month, and James, who attends Guardian Angels RC Primary, are already making a name for themselves in the sport.
This year the boys represented Greater Manchester in the parks bowls league - the youngest players ever to do so.
The boys, who have been playing against adults for a couple of years now, along with dad Ian will soon be reverting to the indoor game, where they play for Hollinhurst in the Radcliffe Indoor Bowling League.
Last year they helped the team finish fourth in the premier division, and together the father and sons combination won the Triples Knock Out competition.
But it's not just at home that the boys like to trundle.
They recently returned from a bowling holiday, taking in the prestigious Fleetwood Bowling Festival.
In the junior championships Nicholas was knocked out in the semi-finals with James falling at the quarter-final hurdle, going out to - yes, you've guessed it - big brother Nicholas!
And in a few years time there could well be four Turrells, with the latest edition, 18-month-old Joseph already getting used to the feel of a wood, watched by mum Deborah.
