TWO bakery workers have appeared in court in connection with the death of a workmate in a car accident.
Dashty Jaff, of Marlbrook Walk, Great Lever and Kashif Ahmed, of Mancroft Avenue, Daubhill, both aged 21, are charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a licence and without insurance.
Ahmed was additionally charged with failing to stop after an accident and failing to report an accident.
Farnworth grandmother Kathleen Robinson, aged 51, was a passenger in Jaff's Nissan Micra when it crashed into a parked car in Wigan Road, Deane, last Thursday morning. She died from her injuries in hospital six hours after the 5.30am collision.
Ahmed was allegedly driving a Nissan Sunny on the same road at the same time.
A preliminary hearing was held at Bolton Crown Court yesterday and the case was adjourned until October 15 for a plea and direction hearing.
